5 Ways You Can Improve Your Physical Wellness
Hey girl,
It’s easy for life to make us busy, but we need to take good care of ourselves and maintain our physical health as best we can. If you need tips on how to do that, I’m here to help. Read below to learn five ways you can improve your physical wellness.
5 Ways You Can Improve Your Physical Wellness
Drink Plenty of Water
We’re starting with the obvious, but never downplay the importance of staying properly hydrated. There are many options we have when it comes to healthy beverages, but water is the most critical to our survival. When we consume water, we are essentially refueling our bodies and ensuring they will continue to function correctly.
But it also gives us advantages such as better skin and the ability to think clearly. Try to drink nearly three liters a day, but this may vary depending on your age, weight, height, and other aspects. If you need a little extra something to encourage yourself to drink your water, try adding slices of cucumbers, lemons, or limes to add a touch of refreshing and natural flavor. Plus that adds a touch of a detox benefit as well!
Make Sure You Get Enough Rest
Easier said than done ( I personally suffer from pretty severe insomnia…) but getting the proper amount of sleep is another way you can improve your physical wellness. With the right amount of sleep, our bodies can keep us from getting sick and manage our weight.
Sleep can even lower the amount of anxiety we feel and make us feel more positive. Try to get at least seven hours of sleep every night to feel refreshed and ready to take on the next day. Dark circles and caffeine addiction, what? 😉
Engage in Exercise
My personal favorite out of the 5 ways you can improve your physical wellness is this one right here!
This one may also seem obvious, but that doesn’t make it less important. Regular exercise helps our bodies get rid of more calories and relieves stress. The activity can even help your body release dopamine, which makes you feel better.
Consider using a workout machine to exercise. For example, one of the benefits of incorporating elliptical machines into workouts is that it helps with cardiovascular health by making our hearts and lungs work harder.
Even simply taking a walk every day can improve your health and overall fitness and is probably the easiest way to literally get your steps in. Or consider something like going to a local barre class, or finding an online workout that matches your current fitness level. Whatever works best fo you, as long as you get in some consistent exercise.
Cut Down on Sugar
I really hate this one and am very sorry but…you know it’s true! We all love sweet treats, but consuming too many can harm our bodies. It can lead to the development of diabetes, high blood pressure, and unwanted weight gain. Everything in moderation!
I probably don’t also need to mention how awful processed sugar is…but seriously, it shouldn’t be a part of our diet! Opt for cleaner snacks that are GMO processed sugar-free and contain something like coconut sugar or no sugar at all!
Sugar alternatives and sugar-free options are even worse, so I highly recommend avoiding those unhealthy traps altogether. Take time to research ingredients and find cleaner options for your late-night cravings!
Be Social
When you want to improve your physical wellness, not everything should feel like a chore. It’s important to our mental health that we still spend time with our partner, our friends, and our family members. This socialization can be beneficial to our mental health and prevent future physical problems.
As a deeply introverted person with literally no social life…I should probably take this advice myself and reach out to people more. When was the last time you met with a friend for coffee or tried out a new pizza place? Get out of the house, put on a cute outfit, and go live life, girl!
Using these methods can lead to a healthier lifestyle and more personal satisfaction. Consider using them today to enjoy a happier, longer life. Don’t forget to subscribe before you go so you never miss out on new posts!
Much love, JessXO
