We all deserve to have a night away from the house and the kids, no matter where we go. With that in mind, you might be overflowing with excitement for the occasion, but you don’t know what to wear. Even if you have a closet full of clothes, knowing what to wear for a date night isn’t always straightforward. Keep reading for outfit suggestions for any date occasion!

What To Wear For A Date Night 

Classic Date Night

Date Night is something exciting to look forward to, but it can also come with loads of anxiety over what to even wear. Getting a chance to wear something other than the daily leggings and t-shirt combo can feel overwhelming.  I don’t like to look over or underdressed. So here are some outfit inspirations to help you out!

Consider wearing a flowy romper with platform sandals and simple jewelry. If that feels too dressy for you, slide into your favorite light-washed jeans and an adorable off-the-shoulder blouse or baby doll tank. Top off the ensemble with chunky heels and a bold handbag.

A Walk on the Beach

The summer season is the perfect opportunity for an outdoor date, and there’s nothing better than watching the sunset on the beach. As you walk along the shore and catch up with your significant other, you don’t want to worry about what you’re wearing. With that in mind, I prefer lightweight midi or maxi dresses to stay comfortable and fabulous.

Wear sandals that are easy to remove in the sand, and then top the outfit with an adorable beach hat. Without a doubt, you’ll look excellent in the orange-yellow hue from the sunset.

Upscale Dinner Date

Going out for a nice dinner is one of the most sophisticated and classic options for a date, but it’s also one of the most difficult to dress for. Believe it or not, some restaurants have a written dress code while others have unspoken guidelines. No matter the case, you can’t go wrong with a form-fitting neutral-colored dress or skirt with bold-colored heels.

Every woman should have a little black dress in her wardrobe, and preparing for an upscale dinner is the perfect opportunity to learn how to dress up your little black dress for a date. If you don’t want to wear a dress, consider wearing a bold-colored jumpsuit with chunky heels and simple jewelry.

Casual Date Night

I absolutely love a casual date night: it takes the pressure off and makes it possible to relax. Whether you’re going out for ice cream or hitting the bowling alley, you can wear something comfortable that appears effortlessly chic. For example, pairing distressed denim with a graphic tee and a jacket or blazer is an excellent option. I like to top off this outfit with sneakers or sandals and simple jewelry!

When I know what to wear for a date night, I feel much more confident and free to enjoy my time away from the house and kids, and you will too! Be sure to consider the weather and activities before choosing your outfit: there’s nothing worse than being uncomfortable or restricted due to your clothing!

I usually pick out my outfits at least a day or two ahead of time and lay everything out to cut my getting ready time down. So this is something I suggest so you will already know on the day of, what you will be wearing and just essentially put everything on.
