Great Ideas To Take Care of Yourself This Fall
Hey friend,
Fall typically brings about busier schedules for families. We begin to reflect on life since the holidays will be here before we know it. With school back in session, providing you some moments to breathe, maybe you can find some great ideas to take care of yourself this fall. Here are a few ideas!
Ideas To Take Care Of Yourself This Fall
Have Fall Fun
Plan some fun fall activities for yourself this year. Think back to your childhood and what you enjoyed doing during the cooler weather of autumn. Ideas include:
- Visiting a pumpkin patch and picking out the biggest pumpkin you can find
- Go apple picking for an apple variety you’ve never tried before
- Spend a whole day watching your favorite Halloween movies
- Attend an Oktoberfest event and try a beer you’d typically shy away from
Combining something you love with something that makes you feel uncomfortable makes it a tad easier to try new things. So go out and enjoy this time of year with or without the kiddos and soak up all the fall vibes!
Give to Those in Need
There are many fantastic causes highlighted during the autumn months of the year. Put some time and energy into a cause you feel passionate about to boost your mood. You’ll feel empowered!
Spending time volunteering or donating to a charity I love is something that I enjoy. I walk away, wondering how I can help even more and looking forward to the next time I get to go back. Food banks are always looking for donations, especially with the holidays fast approaching.
Make a Warm Drink
Taking care of yourself is all about slowing down and enjoying the little things in life. I also enjoy making a hot mug of tea or warmed apple cider in the fall to enjoy on chilly afternoons. Or a rainy afternoon if you want to get particular.
A hot drink is what you need to slow down and savor the flavors. You don’t want to gulp it and burn your throat or mouth. For a warm evening drink, try making mulled or spiced wine. It’s a great way to incorporate fall into a tasty night drink.
Spa Day at Home
Have you ever tried a pumpkin mask? Set up a spa day for yourself at home using different fall ingredients. Pumpkin is a great ingredient that will plump, hydrate, and make your skin glow. Here’s a recipe to try:
- One tablespoon of pumpkin puree
- One tablespoon of raw honey
- One tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
Whisk the ingredients together and use your fingers or a clean brush to spread evenly on your face. Avoid your eyes, of course. Leave the mask on for ten minutes and rinse off for beautiful skin!
Create a New Exercise Routine
A wonderful idea to take care of yourself this fall is to change up your workout routine. The weather is getting chilly, meaning some days will be too cold to exercise outside, and some days will be perfect for taking a fall hike.
I like to have alternatives planned in case the weather isn’t cooperating. Sign up for a class at your local gym or have a few exercise videos in mind. Switch things up for the new season and get your body moving in new ways.
Bake Something Yummy
I love to bake; it’s my happy place. I especially love baking for friends and family. Turning the oven on doesn’t seem so bad when the temperatures are chillier.
I have a favorite pumpkin bread recipe that I bake in a pumpkin loaf pan to welcome autumn or perfect your chocolate chip cookie recipe this fall. I don’t think you’ll hear any complaints coming from your family. I also make fabulous baked apple donuts that are the perfect fall treat!
