Hey, mama friend,

How are you feeling today? Not well, excited, a little stressed? Either of these three emotions or something else entirely, your feelings are valid and justified. If you’re having a hard day, let’s take a step back and give ourselves a break from the stresses of life and try something from my list of things parents can do to relax outside.

4 Things Parents Can Do To Relax Outside

Go for a Stroll

Mama friend, when was the last time you went for a walk around the neighborhood or took the family on an adventure to explore a new area? Well, today’s the day to take a walk around somewhere new or familiar. Going for a stroll on your own, with a friend, or with family can help alleviate the stresses of life to allow you to focus on nature and fun events.

Take the opportunity to go on a hike to explore and learn new things with your children. Additionally, you can curate a list of items for your kids to spot and collect while you relax outside.

Tend or Plant a Garden

I know life is stressful, and sometimes it isn’t easy to get out of the house. Mama friend, it’s okay to leave your home once in a while to do something new. What you can do differently now is go outside and create a garden in your yard.

Tending a garden can be a family affair or something you can escape to while the little ones are playing or at school. Gardening helps create something new for the entire family to enjoy and allows you to absorb some vitamin D from the sunshine.

Grab a Momma Friend and Go for a Bike Ride

Mama, go and grab a fellow mama friend and go for a bike ride. Regardless of if it’s with kids or just the two of you, you’ll be able to engage in physical activity that can help get your blood flowing and put your mind at ease.

If you happen upon a park during your bike ride, make sure to stop and enjoy it for a few hours. There’s a reason why they say adults are young at heart. Parks are a great way to relieve stress and have fun with your little ones.

Go on a Picnic by Yourself or With Others

Exercise is essential, mama, but so is spending time by yourself. If you don’t feel like exercising, go on a picnic by yourself or with others, including your family. Bonding over packing lunches will help you improve your relationships with others and even allow you all to discover new things about one another. Having a picnic can even boost your mental and physical health.

Mama friend, it’s essential to take time out of your day for yourself. Consider these things parents can do to relax outside while deciding on what to do during the day. From having a picnic to enjoying each other’s company on walks, make sure to find a way to relax after a long day.
