Hey mamas!

With so much stress revolving around Christmas, especially for us single mamas, I thought finding a creative way to make it more enjoyable and fun would be a great idea. Do you enjoy wrapping your gifts? I do! Taking the time to put effort into your gift wrapping is a fun thing that helps you put more of your own style, personality and whimsy into the gifts you give. Here are some ways to take it to the next level.

How To Take Your Gift Wrapping To The Next Level

Giving and receiving gifts, no matter what the occasion, is always a lovely feeling. Whether you are opening a gift or watching a loved one’s face light up with joy, there is something lovely about watching the wrapping come off.

With Christmas fast approaching, finding fun ways to wrap gifts is one of the best ways to make the most of the excitement of this festive season. Though classic Christmas wrapping (put it in a box and add some fancy paper and ribbon) always looks beautiful under the tree, we all know that kids tend to go for the most exciting looking gift first. Here’s how to make that happen.

Make a Lucky Dip Bag

There is nothing more exciting than a present that turns out to be multiple small presents. This is exactly what a lucky dip bag is. If you are feeling clever, you could try finding a bag that ties together the theme of the gifts inside. For example, you might like to gather a few of the best Hawaiian treats and put them into a bag with a Hawaiian leis design.

Individually wrapping the small gifts is an option but it’s not really necessary. Instead, simply scrunch up some pieces of brightly colored tissue paper and hide the gifts underneath. Alternatively, you could shred the paper so that the lucky recipient can root through and pick out gifts at random.

Use Alternative Wrapping Materials

Wrapping paper is great for finding novelty patterns and designs but sometimes it’s nice to switch things up a bit. Using a scarf or another piece of fabric like a tea towel is quite fun and it’s another way to give a second gift too! Where wrapping paper will just end up in the bin (and often can’t even be recycled), choosing another way to wrap is often more environmentally friendly.

You will be amazed by the number of ways you can wrap using a scarf and how many shapes actually lend themselves to this style of wrapping! All you need is a little bit of patience and this handy set of instructions and whether you are wrapping a box, a bottle or a ball, you can make it look beautiful.

Get Creative (Without Spending a Fortune)

Great wrapping is never about getting the most expensive thing and if you are planning to budget Christmas then wrapping should be the least of your concerns. There are plenty of ways to make gifts look beautiful without emptying your bank account!

Magazine pages and newspaper is the perfect way to reuse a waste product, save some money and make your gifts look fabulous. Fashion and design magazines are really great because they are usually full of high-quality pictures but don’t let that stop you experimenting with other genres! Use a simple ribbon to finish your wrapping and, if you are splashing out this year, tie a small ornament on top for a bit of glitz.

With just a little extra thought, you can make your gifts beautiful this year. It’s all in the presentation.  Have fun and be blessed!
